The great Gold Rush Music Festival returns to the township of Waihi, with the first nuggets of gold dropping for the highly anticipated return of the 2023 festival.

Special guest headliner DIZZEE RASCAL is joined by fellow British rapper AITCH who makes his exclusive NZ summer appearance at Gold Rush, alongside headline performances from electronic dynamo ALISON WONDERLAND, American producer JAUZ, and Drum & Bass icons DIMENSION and FRICTION. With over 8 hours of music, the festival also includes performances from K MOTIONZ and GEORGIE RIOT.

Due to production limitations caused by a number of determining factors, we have had to revise the Gold Rush festival lineup which unfortunately means we won’t be seeing performances from Flava D, TS7, Sammy Virji, Sammythesinner, Sin & Brook, EMWA and Sammy W. BUS PASSES

Gold Rush Music Festival are operating Return bus services from 4 locations, from Waihi Beach, Athenree, Whangamata and 2 x express bus from Whiritoa. 

WAIHI BEACH RETURN BUS - $32.50 +bf

Waihi Beach Community Centre - 106 Beach Road, Waihi Beach 3611

The Waihi Beach Return Bus is a return bus from the township of Waihi Beach. The buses will be leaving from a central Waihi Beach location, from 1:30pm. Please ensure you catch your correct allocated bus to ensure you get to the festival on time. The last bus to leave will be 6:00pm. The return bus will leave the festival from 10:30pm. Look out for the Waihi Beach signage at the bus lane checkin. If you arrive outside your travel time, you may be denied boarding.

Leave Waihi Beach: 1:30pm - 5:30pm

Leave Gold Rush: 10:30pm - 11:00pm

Note: the return bus leaving Gold Rush may leave earlier than 10:30pm should you wish to leave earlier, however, this will be dependent on a full bus.

ATHENREE RETURN BUS - $32.50 +bf

130 Athenree Road, Athenree

The Athenree Return Bus is a return bus from the township of Waihi Beach. All tickets are allocated to times. You must arrive during your ticket time with your ticket and ID to travel on the bus. If you arrive outside your travel time you may be denied boarding. You will need your bus wristband to board the bus. Buses will depart from the same location you were dropped off. Make sure to look out for the Athenree signage at the bus lane checkin.

Leave Athenree: 2:00pm - 4:00pm 

Leave Gold Rush: 10:30pm - 11:00pm

Note: the return bus leaving Gold Rush may leave earlier than 10:30pm should you wish to leave earlier, however, this will be dependent on a full bus.

WHANGAMATA RETURN BUS - $47.50 +bf

Whangamata RSA - 324 Port Road, Whangamatā 3620

The Whangamata Return Bus is a return bus from the township of Whangamata. There will be a constant stream of buses leaving the Whangamata RSA, 324 Port Road, from 1:30pm. Please ensure you catch your correct allocated bus to ensure you get to the festival on time. The last bus to leave will be 5:30pm. The return bus will leave the festival from 10:30pm. Look out for the Whangamata signage at the bus lane checkin. If you arrive outside your travel time, you may be denied boarding.

Leave Whangamata: 1:30pm-5:30pm

Leave Gold Rush: 10:30pm - 11:00pm

WHIRITOA EXPRESS BUS - $47.50+bf (LEAVES 3pm or 3:30pm SHARP)

Whiritoa Tennis Courts - Kon Tiki Rd, opposite Tuna Pl, Whiritoa

The Whiritoa Express Bus is a return bus from the township of Whiritoa. The bus will leave with or without you at 3pm or 3:30pm from the Whiritoa Tennis Courts, Kon Tiki Road (opposite Tuna Place). Please ensure you purchase the correct ticket. The return bus will leave the festival from 10:30pm, pending enough numbers and drop Whiritoa Bus Ticketholders back to Whiritoa. Look out for the Whiritoa signage at the bus lane checkin

Leave Whiritoa: 3pm or 3:30pm

Leave Gold Rush: 10:30pm - 11:00pm

OTHER IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION

We encourage the use of Masks on the bus.

The bus service provided to Gold Rush, with the service and frequency of said service subject to the availability of buses, drivers and the application of all related transportation laws. Gold Rush takes no responsibility for attendees failing to make the events by missing buses, or being ejected from buses or denied their use due to damage, intoxication or other unruly behaviour. In this event, Gold Rush will not provide a refund and will refer the person to the appropriate authorities if required. Any damage caused by attendees may be subject to a fee.

PARKING 

PARKING PASS - $5+bf 

Parking is located on the corner of Rata St and Thorn Road.

You must show a valid Car Park ticket to gain entry to the car park and the Park n Ride bus service. The parking is open from 12 pm and will close at 12am, 1.5 hours following the end of the show. Any vehicles remaining in the car park after this time will be towed. No alcohol can enter the car park, and drinking in cars is strictly prohibited. Please ensure you have a designated sober driver.
